Mitsa Mail connects email, contacts, calendar and reminders to AI assistants

How to use Mitsa Mail with ChatGPT and Claude

Give your AI assistant secure access to your Mitsa workspace. You can find and read email, count unread messages, work with contacts, manage calendar events and reminders, and prepare email for your approval.

Mitsa Mail connects to ChatGPT and Claude through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP. The same hosted connection works in both assistants, so there is nothing to install on your computer.

Before you connect

You need a Mitsa Mail account and access to the email address or handle you use to sign in. During connection, Mitsa shows the permissions requested by the assistant. Authentication uses OAuth, so you sign in on Mitsa rather than giving your password to ChatGPT or Claude.

Connect Mitsa Mail to ChatGPT

When Mitsa Mail appears in the public plugin directory, search for it by name and install it. During the review period, you can connect the same production server manually:

1

Open Plugins

In ChatGPT, open Plugins, select the plus button, then choose Add custom MCP server.

2

Add the server

Name it Mitsa Mail, enter https://mitsa.email/mcp, and select OAuth for authentication.

3

Review access

Continue to Mitsa, sign in, review the requested permissions, and select Authorize and connect.

4

Use it in a new chat

Start a Work conversation, type @, select Mitsa Mail, and ask for something from your workspace.

Connect Mitsa Mail to Claude

Claude calls remote MCP services “custom connectors.” The connection works across Claude on the web, desktop and mobile after you add it to your account.

1

Open Connectors

In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors. Select + Add, then Add custom connector.

2

Enter the Mitsa address

Name the connector Mitsa Mail and enter https://mitsa.email/mcp.

3

Confirm OAuth

Use the authentication settings Claude detects. Choose Claude’s published identity when offered, then sign in to Mitsa and approve access.

4

Enable it for the conversation

Open the plus menu beside Claude’s prompt box, choose Connectors, and turn on Mitsa Mail.

Useful prompts to try

“How many unread emails are in my Mitsa inbox?”

“Find recent messages from NSWS and summarize the latest one.”

“Show my reminders due this week.”

“Create a calendar event for Friday at 3 PM.”

“Prepare a reply to this email and keep it concise.”

Email sending stays under your control

ChatGPT or Claude can prepare emails and replies, but only you can send them. Mitsa gives you an approval link where you can review the exact recipient, subject and body before approving the message.

You can disconnect the assistant at any time from its connector settings. Mitsa limits every connection to the account and permissions approved during OAuth.

Troubleshooting

The assistant cannot see a new tool

Refresh the Mitsa connection and start a new conversation. ChatGPT and Claude may retain the tool list for an existing chat.

The inbox count differs from Mitsa

Refresh your Mitsa inbox, then ask again in a new conversation. Mitsa’s connector uses the same Inbox and unread rules as the application badge.

You connected the wrong Mitsa account

Disconnect Mitsa in the assistant’s connector settings, reconnect, and sign in with the intended Mitsa email or handle.

Connect your inbox to the conversation

Create or open your Mitsa account, then use the server address above in ChatGPT or Claude.
